What is Bowl Resection?
The term bowl indicates small or large intestines which are essential for absorption of food. Removal of the part of small or large intestine because of certain diseases is called bowl resection
What are the causes of Bowl Resection?
Common causes of bowl resection include intestinal obstruction due to various causes like tuberculosis, stricture, benign and malignant tumours and an intestinal perforation which may be due to trauma, typhoid or tubercular ulcers of the intestines. Bowl Resection may also be performed in cases of strangulation or non viability of intestines due to various disorders
