Dr. K. N. Srivastava presently is Senior Consultant and Head, Deptt. of General & Minimal Access Surgery at the BLK Super Speciality Hospital, Pusa Road, New Delhi, India, which is among the best hospitals in Delhi. He took Voluntary Retirement from the post of Prof. Surgery & Head of Surgical Unit, PGIMER, Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, New Delhi in Nov 2011 after 3 decades of professional contribution and enriching experience, both surgical & post graduate teaching.
Dr Srivastava has formerly also served as the Consultant Surgeon to The Prime Minister of India and is still the Surgeon to the Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare, GOI.
In the field of general surgery, he is one of the early minimal invasive surgeon and also holds the distinction of being the first surgeon of Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital New Delhi who started laparoscopic Surgery at the Hospital in June, 1997 and till date he continues to pursue advanced Laparoscopic Surgery including Laparoscopic Bariatric Surgery ( Surgery for Weight Loss ).
Dr Srivastava is one of the best Laparoscopic Surgeon in Delhi in the field of Laparoscopic Hernia Surgery and Gallstone Surgery. His other areas of interest include Laparoscopic Fundoplication, Cardiomyotomy, Sleeve Gastrectomy and Laparoscopic Solid Organ Surgeries like Spleenectomy, Nephrectomy & Adrenalectomy, Laparoscopic Rectal Prolapse Surgery, Appendisectomy and Diagnostic Laparoscopic Surgery.
